Born and raised in a small town in East Texas, Angela was the oldest of 3 siblings. Her parents separated when she was a toddler. Her father was an alcoholic and in and out of jail and homelessness. She was raised by her mother and a few different stepfathers. Angela and her siblings grew up in and around a lot of dysfunction, domestic violence, addiction and abuse.
Angela began working at the age of 16. She worked at a local McDonald’s before becoming the Store Manager at a Dairy Queen in Longview Texas. She worked there for a couple of years before leaving to go to work for Ark- la-Tex Water Treatment Company. That’s where she met Cliff in 2000. He was in the outside sales department in the Shreveport Louisiana office and she was dispatch in the Longview Texas office. Cliff had made top sales his first week there while in training. Cliff and Angela fell immediately in love. They moved to Fort Worth Texas together shortly after meeting.
In 2003 Cliff and Angela started a small advertising business.
In 2006 Angela’s mother committed suicide.
In 2008 Angela left Texas and together she and Cliff moved to his hometown of Riverside California. There they continued running their small business and made Riverside their home.
In 2016 they lost their forever home, ended up in a rental home and spiraled into drug addiction. It wasn’t long before they were homeless with no place to go. Motel 6 in Corona California became their place of safety and shelter for the next 2 years. There they witnessed so much sadness, hopelessness and pain.
Together they got sober in January of 2018 and soon after that they began attending a local food pantry. That’s where they met Jesus. They finally attended church together for the first time on December 1st of 2018. That’s the day they surrendered their lives to God. They were then baptized on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas God approved them for permanent housing. Angela and Cliff left Motel 6 on January 16, 2019 and moved into permanent housing.
In March of 2019 they began Angels Over Cliffs.
In April 2019 Cliff and Angela finally got married.
Angela gives All glory to God for turning her life around. She has seen so much sadness and despair throughout her life. God has filled the holes in her heart and she now overflows with true joy and true love. She’s now living a life full of purpose, pleasure and pure joy. Bringing hope to the hopeless is beautiful.
Angela enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 cats and 2 dogs. She is so proud of her father who has also overcome homelessness and addiction. She loves being outdoors in nature and being at church.
Romans 8:28 is her favorite scripture, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.“
