Walking Families from Crisis to Stability With Dignity and Hope

By Angela Hair, Executive Director

Angels Over Cliffs is a Corona-based nonprofit dedicated to serving families and individuals experiencing hidden homelessness—those living in motels, cars, garages, or unstable housing situations that often go unseen. Through a full wraparound system of services, the organization walks alongside clients as they climb from crisis to stability and, ultimately, permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Their support includes motel assistance, first month’s rent and security deposit help, case management, life-skills education, counseling partnerships, kids programs, and basic needs such as food, hygiene, and clothing.

Serving Up Hope: Angels Over Cliffs volunteers were out in the community, providing more than just nutrition. While the plates were filled with a delicious hot meal, the real nourishment came from the smiles, conversations, and the unwavering message that our neighbors experiencing homelessness are seen and valued.

From Personal Hardship to Community Calling

The nonprofit was founded by Cliff and Angela Hair, whose own lived experience with instability shaped their calling. Years ago, they faced their own cliff, an unexpected season of hardship that forced them to rebuild from the ground up. When they regained their footing, they made a promise: No one climbing out of homelessness should have to climb alone. What began as two people helping neighbors from the trunk of their car has grown into a recognized community organization serving hundreds of families across Riverside County.

Breaking Barriers to Permanent Housing

A cornerstone of Angels Over Cliffs is its Housing Program, which provides emergency motel stays, housing navigation, and financial support for families ready to transition into permanent housing.

By covering the first month’s rent and security deposits, the organization removes the biggest barrier preventing families from leaving homelessness behind. Many clients describe this support as the turning point that allowed them to finally breathe again.

Empowering Families Through Education

Equally essential is the Education Program, which offers life-skills classes such as budgeting, credit education, conflict resolution, job readiness, and self-development. These workshops are designed to break generational cycles of poverty by equipping clients with the tools needed to maintain long-term stability. Many families continue attending classes even after being housed because of the confidence, community, and growth they experience.

Restoring Childhood and Dignity

The organization also invests deeply in children through its Kids Program, which provides winter coats, haircuts, backpacks filled with school supplies, new clothes and shoes, and holiday support. For families living in motels or cars, these resources are more than material goods—they are dignity, normalcy, and hope.

The Joy of the First Night’s Rest

What inspires the founders most is the resilience of the people they serve: parents working multiple jobs while living in motels, seniors surviving in cars, families doing everything they can to stay together. The greatest joy, they say, is witnessing the moment a family receives the keys to a new home or walks into a fully furnished space for the first time. “It’s not just furniture,” Angela often says. “It’s the first night of rest someone has had in years.

Changing the Story Together

To the community, Angels Over Cliffs offers this message: hidden homelessness is everywhere, and together, we can change the story. Every donation, volunteer hour, and act of kindness becomes part of someone’s climb back to stability.

As the organization continues to grow, its commitment remains unwavering: to meet people where they are, love them unconditionally, and help them rise, one step, one home, one life at a time.
